Skaterpede by: Unknown

So I found this clip online I do not know who made this but I thought it was really good, I guess inspired on those photo sequences spreads in skate magazines, but taken to video. "A meditation on the shapes and movements of skateboarding".

hello from melbourne, oz, have been enjoying your posts, since i stumbled across your site and subscribed recently...
but as a video-head and skater - this was a great clip to discover... nice use of trail effects... the credits at end showed this site, and they've got a few more, but less exciting clips here - including a nice stitched together video panorama though....

Indeed, I liked this video a lot as well, I have seen many skate videos before but this one approaches the sport from a different angle.

Hi, this trail effect looks good and is easy to do. I stumbled across it buy mistake.
-Simply put lock of your camera shot

-Copy/paste many multiple layers in after effects

-Offset each one, by a frame or whatever

-Change the sceen mode to add or multiply and vola!

Hello. Thanks for the positive comments, folks. Skaterpede is one of my videos that I created for my site, Wall of Gray.

Richard, You got my technique almost exactly right - except I used the 'Echo' effect in After Effects which automatically creates many layered copies of an image. I also rendered it several times with slightly different settings to get a better range of colors and to make the trails seem more solid.
