Event: Broken Beat | 07.07.07

Brokenbeat - July 2007

[ SATURDAY, JULY 7th 2007 ]
BROKENBEAT NIGHT @ KADAN

TYCHO (Ghostly/ Merck)
...................................................................................................
Tycho is the audio and visual project of San Francisco based artist, designer and producer Scott Hansen aka ISO50. As Tycho he's a master of swirling, sun-drenched melodies and as the much-lauded graphic designer, ISO50, he's equally stunning and mines a similar aesthetic that sends him around the globe to speak at top design conferences including SXSW and OFFF Barcelona among others. Tycho has just released new material for Ghostly International (Mathew Dear / Solvent) after having recently released "Past is Prologue" on Merck Records. Hansen will be performing and displaying visual projections and artwork from his ISO50 guise, as well as his live set as Tycho."

TOM BURBANK (Planet-Mu/ BrokenBeat / Borders Collapse)
...................................................................................................
Following a solid first release "Famous First Words" on Planet-mu, our boy Tom Burbank has made some noise in the music world. Tom was recently chosen as one of RE:UP mag's "Choice Cutters," and will sure to be ready to drop it !!! Expect some original unreleased dubstep thrown in the mix...

EL POETA (BrokenBeat / Borders Collapse / Imputor?)
...................................................................................................
Artist, Producer, Technologist & Male Model Extraordinaire Angelo Gastelum aka Carlito Headset demonstrates the current 'speeka-burn' epidemic widespread among sound systems connected to his outputs. Hear what Its a slam dance exhibition --- make a mental note of the fire exits upon entry & refrain from using flammable hair tonics.

DATASCRAPER (n5MD / Component / Piehead / Xynthetic)
...................................................................................................
Datascraper, the side project from IDM musician "Portland".
Drawing on the dark and crunchy sounds from the Portland project and adding a more dance floor friendly edge, Datascraper's ground pounding beats and syncopated synths are well suited for the Industrial/Electro scene.

Already getting noticed by the emerging online label scene, Datascrapers' track "In Their Tongue" will be featured on Xynthetic Musics upcoming summer comp titled "Progress Report" (tentative title).

[ GUEST VJ ]

HI Miguex,

Been following your blog for a while - good stuff! Cut a long story short I work with a partner in audio visual stuff (Lumen - lumen-events.co.uk, 2020 - 2020.collective.org) and organise a biannual festival called ¡VAMOS! - vamosfestival.com all in the North East of England - brrr! It maybe that you could contribute to both/either? Do you have a current showreel you link me to?

Cheers,
