You can catch her internet radio show every wed (7-9pm PST) on HipStepRadio Her journey thru music began while living below Kid Koala in 1998 and has progressed from Montreal to New York City, to her most recent home of Phoenix AZ where she currently runs several nights and has performed at almost every venue.

Sal has performed in many festivals and electronic music events in countries like Germany, France, USA and Mexico.

Under Scan | Lozano - Hemmer

Mexican electronic artist Rafael Lozano - Hemmer has some interesting Projects on his site. One of the ones that caught my eye was UNDER SCAN, a large-scale public art project commissioned by the East Midlands Development Agency in England. Thousands of "video-portraits" taken in Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, Northampton and Nottingham will be projected onto the ground of the main squares and pedestrian thoroughfares of these cities. At first, the portraits will not be visible because the space will be flooded by white light coming from the world’s most powerful projector. As people walk around the area, their shadow will be cast on the floor, revealing the video-portraits. The short video sequences begin with the subjects in a still position turned away from the camera. As they appear within pedestrians' shadows, their bodies move and their heads turn to look straight at the pedestrian, potentially giving rise to an interesting range of interactions. When a shadow moves away from a portrait, the portrait likewise reacts by losing interest and looking away.

El artista Mejicano, Rafael Lozano - Hemmer tiene una variedad de projectos interesantes en su website . Ono de los que me llamo la atencion fue UNDER SCAN, un proyecto de arte público encargado por el East Midlands Development Agency en Inglaterra. Miles de "video-retratos" tomados en Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, Northampton y Nottingham serán proyectados en el piso de las plazas y calles peatonales de esas ciudades. Inicialmente los retratos no se podrán ver ya que estarán borrados por la intensa luz proveniente del proyector más potente del mundo. Según camine la gente, su sombra será proyectada en el piso "descubriendo" los retratos. Las secuencias de video comienzan con los sujetos viendo hacia un lado. Según aparecen dentro de las sombras de los transeuntes, los retratos se mueven y voltean hacia ellos directamente. Cuando una sombra se retira de un retrato automáticamente el retrato se gira para mirar a otro sitio.

Tijuana Art | MCASD

Here are some pictures from last night's exhibit Strange New World: Art and Design from Tijuana at the MCASD. The opening ceremony featured many music artists from Tijuana, and the visuals for the night where provided by YONKEart.
The exhibit runs May 21 through September 17.

Aqui unas fotos de ayer por la noche en la ceremonia de apertura Strange New World: Art and Design from Tijuana en el MCASD. Durante el espectaculo de apertura, tocaron varias agrupaciones musicales de Tijuana, las visuales durante la noche fueron responsabilidad de YONKEart.
La exhibicion permanecera abierta hasta el 17 de Septiembre.

Here is a piece created by Nortec Collective's own, VJ Mashaka I got to see Nortec a few times here in San Diego, but only one time with visuals, and I felt that there really was a music-visual connection, great show!.
