[ English ] It's no secret that I (like most people out there) am nearly obsessed with Universal Everything and their work. I believe right now, they are producing some of the most amazing projects out there, constantly exploring and experimenting and giving the term "new media" a whole new meaning. The videos above were recorded at the D & AD lecture series and feature Universal Everything's founder and Creative Director Matt Pyke.
[ Castellano ] No es secreto que (como muchos) estoy casi obsesionado con el trabajo de Universal Everything. Creo que en este momento esta produciendo increibles trabajos que constantemente exploran y experimentan con nuevas tecnicas y medios, dandole al termino "New Media" un significado diferente. Los videos de mas arriba fueron grabados durante una serie de lecturas en D & AD que introducen al fundador y director creativo de UE, Matt Pyke. Lamentablemente estan en ingles y no tienen subtitulos por el momento.
[ English ] What a beautiful "morning track" this is exactly the kind of music I like to hear when I wake up, the audio track is called Tam, by LJ Kruzer and what you can't stop watching above was composed by Sheffield based Jamie Bradshaw.
A fantastic audio-responsive piece that truly connects with the overall feel of the track, hypnotic, immersive, minimalist.
[ Castellano ] Este es el tipo de musica que me gusta escuchar en la manana, cuando me levanto. La pista de audio se llama Tam, de LJ Kruzer y el video que no podes parar de mirar es de el artista de motion graphics Jamie Bradshaw, de Sheffield, UK. Buenisimo trabajo audio-reactivo (existe ese termino?) que realmente conecta con la atmosfera del track. hipnotico, inmersivo y minimalista.
[ English ] A two-minute animated voyage through nature's life cycle, following the trials and tribulations of a humble apple seed. The film was kindly funded by Adobe, made using their CS4 range of software. It was produced at Nexus Productions and features a soundtrack by Jape. It was made using a mixture of stop motion papercraft and 2D drawn animation. Directed by : Johnny Kelly

Floating above the pond within the John Madejski Garden, a large videowall installation of endless animations responding to an ever changing soundtrack. The bespoke generative design system at the heart of Forever will spawn unique audio-visual films everyday, forever. By the always amazing Universal Everything.

[ English ] For all you iPhone users that love typography, here are some nice visuals developed by Andreas Muller, the app is called For All Seasons and its available for free at the iTunes Store, make sure you check his site, lots of great stuff there!

[ English ] London based Digital Club developed music and animation for Creative Review's Creative Futures, an annual project that for almost 20 years celebrates the promise of emerging talent in visual communications.
[ Castellano ] El colectivo Ingles Digital Club realizo esta animacion para Creative Futures de Creative Review, un proyecto anual que por casi 20 anos, celebra la promesa de talento emergente en el area de comunicacion visual.
[ English ] British based, arts and technology collective Seeper developed a giant interactive Pi for the 2008 Glastonbury Festival.
The question that triggered the concept: “If there is no beginning and no end, then what?” their answer” Pi, Pie or a circle?” In this instant a 16 metre round Big Top tent in the festivals Trash City area, that responds to the motion of the people within it.
[ Castellano ] El grupo artistico/tecnologico Ingles, Seeper realizo una pieza interactiva gigante, Pi en el Glastonbury Festival del 2008.
La pregunta que activo el concepto para la pieza: "Si no hay principio y fin, entonces que?" La respuesta de ellos: Pi, Pie o Circulo?/ En ese instante una carpa de 16 metros de diametro ubicada en el festival, responde al movimiento de la gente que la visita.
After a lot of research and with the help from Accent Feed's readers I was able to put together a list of some of the 10 most impressive visuals seen in concerts in 2008.
This was not intended to be taken as a competition, or to see who is better than who, I believe you can't measure who is the best band, or who is the best VJ in the world, this is meant to inspire other video artists/ video art lovers, and to spread the word about the importance of video art/ visuals in concerts.

[ English ] I recently started digging on my old cd books, and I found Everything, Everything, by Underworld which I now ripped and have on mp3. One of their best tracks on the album to me is Jumbo, their live version (recorded on the DVD version of the album) is absolutely fantastic, look at those visuals!
[ Castellano ] recientemente me puse a buscar en mi colleccion de CDs, y encontre Everything, Everything de Underworld, el cual ahora tengo en mp3. Uno de los mejores tracks en el disco para mi es Jumbo. La version en vivo (como se ve en la version DVD del album) es realmente fantastica, mira esos visuales!.
[ English ] I have no words. This is just out of this planet. I don't have an iPhone, but if I did, this is probably the first thing I would install on it. The concept of reactive audio (and visuals) fascinates me and this guy (Michael I think is his name?) just took it to a new level. On the video above, you can (sort of) experience what it feels like to use this, the initial scene when the kids are playing transforms into something surreal, almost as if you were on a dream state.

[ Castellano ] Sin palabras! Esto es realmente increible. Yo no tengo un iPhone, pero si tuviera uno, esta applicacion seria la primera que instalaria. El concepto de audio reaccion (y video) me fascina y este hombre (Michael creo q se llama) lo acaba de transportar a otro nivel. En el video de arriba se exerimentar (casi) lo que se siente cuando se usa RJDJ, la primera escena con las chicas jugando se transforma en algo surreal, como si estuvieras viviendo un sueño.
En el de mas abajo, se puede aprender un poco mas sobre las diferentes aplicaciones que se encuentran en RJDJ.
[ English ] Fantastic work by the England based studio Moving Brands for the London College of Fashion. It's important to say that all these animations were VJ'd LIVE. I think the final work speaks for it self, simple, clean, minimal, great taste and synchronization. Below you can see the process behind the conceptual stages that preceded the fashion show.

[ English ] Is not often you get to see so much amazing work coming from the same group of people, pushing the envelope on every single piece they produce, and so far Universal Everything keeps doing just that, (sometimes I wonder how their bad work looks like.. ) Very inspiring, on a wide range of mediums, from print work to reactive installations, I'll let their demo reel do the talking.

[ Castellano ] No es comun ver grandes cantidades de excelente trabajo viniendo de un mismo grupo de personas, siempre elevando el nivel con cada pieza completada, y hasta ahora Universal Everything pareciera ser uno de esos pocos, (algunas veces me pregunto como se veran sus malos trabajos) Muy inspirador, en una gran variedad de medios que van desde imprenta a instalaciones reactivas. Voy a dejar que su demo reel hable por si mismo.

[ English ] This is a really nice piece by Sati , I like the simplicity of the initial part of the video, just a few lines well synchronized with the music can really go a long way, it's not often that you see stuff like this in clubs, usually there is a lot of information being displayed on the screen, multiple layers at the same time, etc. Simple stuff like this always gets my attention.
Sati explains"..(we are) an audiovisual band composed of Erwan Raguenes and myself Jesse Lucas. We write the music together. And then work on ideas for the visuals (often during the track composition). On stage SATI play live and remix the audio visual content using Live and Modul8. We also play analog synths to get the party going." The name of the track? "Pic Vert Attack"
[ Castellano ] Esta es una muy buena pieza creada por a Sati, me gusta el simple recurso del inicio del video, solo unas pocas lineas bien sincronizadas con la pista de audio puede llegar muy lejos, no es comun ver este tipo de estilo en los boliches (clubs), en gral se ve un monton de informacion en las pantallas, multiples layers (o canales) al mismo tiempo. Cosas simples como estas, siempre me llaman la atencion.
Sati explica: ...(nosotros somos) un conjunto audiovisual compuesto por Erwan Raguenes y yo, Jesse Lucas. Nosotros escribimos la musica juntos y tambien trbajamos las ideas para los visuales (muchas veces mientras componemos la musica). En vivo Sati toca en directo y remixa el contenido utilizando Live y Modul8. Tambien usamos sintes para continuar la fiesta". El nombre de la pista en el video es "Pic Vert Attack"
[ English ] Flickflex is an experimental project by London based design interactions student Chris Woebken. This video is impressive not only because it makes you want something like this, but because of the great real life analogies we see implemented on this project, there is no need for any instructions to understand how to download photos, how to crop, how erase and how to mover around your gallery, etc.
On his own words: "By minimizing the graphical interface and embodying physical interactions such as flipping, wrenching and bending, it creates more pleasurable ways of managing information."
[ Castellano ] Flickflex es un proyecto experimental del estudiante de diseno interactivo Londinense Chris Woebken. Este video es mas que impresionante y va mas alla de serlo solo por que me encantaria usar algo asi, pero por que las analogias con el mundo real son mas que claras, sin necesidad de explicaciones uno entiende como bajar fotos de la camara, como hacer re-encuadros como borrar, como moverse dentro de la galeria, etc
En sus propias palabras: "Minimizando la interfase grafica, y recurriendo al uso de interacciones fisicas como cambiar de pagina, rompiendola, y doblandola, transforma el manejo de informacion en una experiencia mas agradable."
[ English ] A very cool installation by London based studio Pickled Onion, was shown as part of the The Science of Spying exhibit at the Science Museum in London. This reminds me of that part on the movie Total Recall, when Arnie is at the airport walking next to a huge x-ray scanner-wall screen.
[ Castellano ] Muy buena la instalacion por parte del estudio Loninense Pickled Onion como parte de la exhibicion La Ciencia del Espionaje en el Museo de Ciencia de Londres. Me recuerda a esa escena en la pelicula Total Recall cuando Arnold esta en el aeropuerto caminando y hay una pared/ escaner de rayos X.
[ English ] We've all dreamed about having X-Ray Vision and being able to see through walls, Chris O' Shea, the talented man behind Pixelsumo, was inspired by that same dream when he came out with "Out of Bounds". An Installation at the Design Museum in London, where visitors are able to shine an "X-Ray Torch" through the walls of the museum in order to reveal the secret areas hidden behind the walls. [ Castellano ] Todos sonamos alguna vez con tener vision de rayos X y poder ver a traves de las paredes, Chris O' Shea, el talentoso hombre detras de Pixelsumo, fue inspirado por esa misma idea cuando creo "Out of Bounds" (Algo asi como fuera de limites). Una instalacion para el Design Museum en Londres, donde los visitantes podian utilizar una "linterna de rayos X" por las paredes del museo, revelando asi los contenidos secretos que se encontraban detras de las mismas. [ English ] Looks like London based D-Fuse got a nice profile in the Apple pro site, after reading about their work, I went to look at their new (and very nice) website, wich lots of big photos, very impressive. I posted a link to their demo reel wich shows bits of everything, loved the menu transitions.
