[ English ] A nice little report of the last Mapping Festival , every time I see footage from this event I dream of having something like this in San Diego, looks like great fun, the set up is massive and the talent is more than inspiring.
[ Castellano ] Lindo reporte sobre el ultimo Mapping Festival, cada vez que veo video sobre este evento, sueno con tener algo asi aca en San Diego, se ve increible, el set up es gigante y el talento es mas que inspirador.
[ English ] This is fantastic, I love it! A motion promo for the Bonaroo festival in Manchester, Tennessee. Directed by Elliot Jockelson. "We made this video using an experimental animation process that utilizes the principals of traditional cell animation (think of a flip book) in a very unique way. By removing the negative space of each cell or frame of animation you are able to see the history of frames before it. For our piece we designed an animation rig that was 19 frames deep, allowing us to see 19 frames of our animation at once."

"Hicimos el video utilizando una tecnica experimental en el proceso de animacion, utilizando los principios tradicionales en una forma bastante unica. Removimos el espacio negativo de cada celula o cuadro para que se visualizaran los cuadros anteriores que la antecedieron. Por cada pieza de animacion se ven 19 cuadros anteriores, dejando ver 19 cuadros de animacion al mismo tiempo."

After a lot of research and with the help from Accent Feed's readers I was able to put together a list of some of the 10 most impressive visuals seen in concerts in 2008.
This was not intended to be taken as a competition, or to see who is better than who, I believe you can't measure who is the best band, or who is the best VJ in the world, this is meant to inspire other video artists/ video art lovers, and to spread the word about the importance of video art/ visuals in concerts.

[ English ] I've never heard of Sati till like a month ago, when I saw their Pic Vert piece, now I run into this footage from Mapping Festival and it just looks great. I must mention that according to their Vimeo entry, this footage was shot by AntiVJ, this is not the first time I see them mentioned as a photographer/ videographer focusing on video acts, and they always look amazing. Documenting live acts like this, I believe, is a big part of promoting a project, band or event, and of course VJing!
[ Castellano ] Nunca habia escuchado de Sati hasta hace un mes atras, cuando pude ver su proyecto Pic Vert , y ahora encontre este video de su actuacion en el Mapping Festival y se ve realmente increible, debo mencionar que, de acuerdo a la descripcion del video en Vimeo, ese video fue tomado por AntiVJ, no es la primera vez que veo videos o fotografias de el (o ellos) documentando la labor de otros video-artistas, y siempre se ven muy pero muy bien. Documentar eventos en vivo como esto, cumple un gran rol en promover un proyecto, banda, o evento y por su puesto Vjing!

[ English ] A little video report by MFO one of our contributors at the Accenfeed Vimeo Channel. What I like about MFO's work is that is really clean, I notice good use of typography, color combinations, nice illustrations and footage all matching together like it belongs. His video report from the Paysages Electroniques shows exactly that, great editing from the perspective of the visualist, really nice piece. Looks like a great festival too!

Lo que me gusta del trabajo de MFO es que es muy limpio, se nota un buen uso tipografico, combinacion de colores, buen trabajo de illustracion y video combinado excelentemente. Este reporte del Paysages Electroniques muestra exactamente eso, muy buena la edicion, Pareciera ser un gran festival tambien.
[ English ] Fellow video artist and La-Va member Eric Medine just sent me the info for this event happening in Chicago, where he will be giving lectures on game controller hacking and doing some video mixing. This event looks very promising!

[ Castellano ] Todays Art Festival, un proyecto de instalacion visual organizado por Maxalot, combino una superficie de 30 x 30 metros, otre de 18x20, 2 proyectores de 20k lumens, y la lista de artistas incluida mas arriba, si bien aun no encuentro video del evento, se puede ver un poco del trabajo visual de de WWFT aqui. y abajo pueden ver un pequeno documental sobre el evento del ano pasado.
[ English ] While browsing around the Mapping Festival's site, I saw this documentary of the event that was aired on Swiss TV. While I can only imagine what most of these talented individuals are saying, I can still enjoy the beautiful art that is being showcased, very cool! You may also take a look at these great photos by Stephane Pecorini. I'm dying to have something like this here in San Diego!!!

Si bien solo puedo imaginar lo que estas personas estan diciendo, aun puedo disfrutar de una imagenes de lo que parece ser un increible evento. Tambien encontre estas fotos tomadas por Stephane Pecorini, en el mismo evento.
[ English ] I was browsing Dan Winckler's Photos when I found a photo with cool pixel display and he was kind enough to point me to the Blip Festival, a four-day celebration of over 30 international artists exploring the untapped potential of low-bit videogame consoles and home computers used as creative tools. Familiar devices are pushed in new directions with startling results. The display was provided by Element Labs. The beautiful photos were shot by Brian Liloia and where found at Game Set Watch where you can read a full report about the festival.

[ English ] Here is a little clip I found from the OneDotZero festival that took place in Buenos Aires, featuring United Visual Artists. As usually top notch, one of the many things I love about UVA is that the content is changing depending on where they are performing, I just noticed a lot of information on the screen that features a lot of local (from Argentina) feeds of random information about television networks / sattelite and news.

Como es de esperar impecable. Una de las tantas cosas que me gustan de los actos de UVA es como cambian el contenido visual, dependiendo de donde esten llevando a cabo su acto, en las pantallas se puede leer lo que pareciera ser informacion sobre programacion televisiva, noticias varias e informacion satelital.

[ English ] Cimatics brings you an extensive overview of what's taking place at the crossroads of sound, image, media, design, cinema and performance art. Ignoring the borders of diverse disciplines, the festival combines sound and visuals, mixing art with pop into a celebration of audiovisual culture.
[ Castellano ] Cimatics presenta una revision extensa sobre lo que pasa en la encrucijada donde convergen el sonido, la imagen, el diseno, el cine y la perfromance en vivo. Ignorando las fronteras de estas disciplinas, el festival combina sonido y visuales, mezclando arte con pop en una celebracion de la cultura audiovisual.
[ English ] I just found this short video from Future Sound Of London performing "LIVE" at the Essential Festival, Brighton in 1997. I have heard about this show many times, but never actually seen the video, Apparently Brian Dougans & Garry Cobain decided to question de existance of the electronic musician performing at the actual stage, so they decided to do the gig from their production studio and broadcast everything from there. With the help of incredible visuals I think they actually pulled it off.

Yo he escuchado mucho de este concierto, pero nunca habia visto video, aparentemente Brian Dougans y Garry Cobain decidieron questionar la necesidad de la existencia del musico electronico en el escenario, por lo que decidieron realizar su acto desde su estudio de produccion, y transmitir desde ahi, al evento. Con la ayuda de increibles visuales yo creo que lo lograron.
[ English ] It looks like the Austrian based VJs Christoph Schmid and Clemens Guertler AKA: Lichterloh, don't waist time. Their recent performance at the 3 day Urban Art Forms Festival in Austria had a nice set up for visuals, featuring a 360 Degrees screen and 25 other projections surrounding the crowd.

Su mas reciente aparicion en el Urban Art Forms Festival de 3 dias, de Austria tuvo un increible set up que incluia una pantalla de 360 grados y mas de 25 superficies para proyectar alrededor del publico.
[ English ] I recently came across with the works of Japanese based visual artist Masato Tsutsui, and I have to say that, what I have seen so far is very impressive; Masato explains: Most of my work is realtime generated trough Max/MSP/Jitter and Open GL technology, as a way to create a representation of an algorithmic virtual-mind space. If you happen to be near Belgium in November -December 06' you can see some of Masato's works at the Artbot Mai project at the Okno exhibition festival.

Masato explica: La mayor parte de mi trabajo es generada en tiempo real a travez de Max/MSP/Jitter y tecnologia Open GL, como una forma de crear representaciones algoritmicas de un espacio mental-virtual. Si de por casualidad estas en Belgica alrededor de Noviembre - Diciembre del '06, podras ver algunos trabajos de Masato en Artbot Mai un proyecto en el festival Okno .

Now in its fifth year, it is a leading international event for anyone interested in the theory and practice of how new technologies are shaping and changing the way musicians, DJs, VJs, digital artists, audiovisualisers and creative software developers make and present their work.
