I just finished a cd packaging design that has a very similar technique used on this video, (I might be wrong but I think its called polar coordinates), anyways.. I never even considered using it on video/ motion graphics, wow it looks fantastic.
This piece was developed by Takafumi Tsuchiya from Japan,
he has some amazing work, not only in the motion area but on print medium as well, make sure you pay his site a visit.

Everything, Everything, by Underworld which I now ripped and have on mp3. One of their best tracks on the album to me is Jumbo, their live version (recorded on the DVD version of the album) is absolutely fantastic, look at those visuals!

I remember watching this concert on public TV (or maybe the one in Russia), and though I was younger, I remember being sucked in, by the visual aspect first, then the music. That was the first time I ever heard of Michel Jarre, to me a very influencial artist, musically and visually.
I also remember looking for ever for his CD Odyssey through O2, because I read in Future Music, that came with a little application to mix visuals to the music, and it was almost impossible to get in Argentina, so I had to special order it by mail. The application I believe was called Jarkaos, (an early version of Arkaos maybe?). And I played around with it for months...

"The footage in the first half of the video is from real footage of the highest descent ever recorded from the edge of space by Joseph Kittinger in 1960, skydiving from a height of 102,800 feet in a space suit. With complications on the way down, he was convinced he had not survived the jump and hallucinated falling through hell. "

Dayvan Cowboy es el primer video oficial de la agrupacion Boards of Canada. La primera parte del video pertenece a un documental sobre el descenso mas alto capturado en video en 1960 por Joseph Kittinger, arrojandose desde una altura de 31.333 metros en un traje espacial, tras algunas complicaciones en el descenso comenzo a pensar que no habia sobrevivido y alucino que cayo en el infierno.

Future Sound of London's "We have explosive", was first aired in 1996, and was directed by Run Wrake, an animator/illustrator/ director from London. Run has produced several self-financed short films alongside commercials, titles, music videos and stage visuals, that keeps adding to his impressive body of work, which includes names like Howie B, U2, Stereo MC's, Paul Mc Cartney and Manu Chao to name a few.
